The consultation on the proposed Academy includes information meetings for staff, parents, students and the community. These events will give you the opportunity to find out more about what the proposed Academy could mean to you. They will also give you a chance to ask questions, as well as suggest what you would want from your new Academy.

What are the next steps in the proposed Academy in Taunton project?

The Academy Project Team will continue to develop its detailed proposals for the Academy.

The Project Team will focus on the following areas:

  • Ongoing consultation and communication with students, staff, parents, the local community and other stakeholders up to and beyond the completion of the Feasibility Stage.
  • Development of the curriculum and other educational policies.
  • Planning for the transition towards opening the new Academy, ensuring that no student is disadvantaged in any way during this process.
  • Working with the Local Authority and other partners to design the Academy buildings so that they meet students’ needs, the aspirations of the local community and the Sponsors’ vision.
