Consultation
We want to hear your views
We want as many people as possible to have the opportunity to express their views about the proposal for an Academy in Taunton, which would replace St Augustine’s of Canterbury CofE/RC School and Ladymead Community School.
Information events will also give you the opportunity to find out more about what the proposed Taunton Academy could mean for you. Click here for details of consultation meetings.
The proposed Taunton Academy consultation will run alongside Somerset County Council’s School Closure Consultation. The progression of the Academy proposals is dependent upon the closure of the schools. The final decision to close the schools will be made during the Autumn term of 2009. If, at this point, the proposal is not approved, all work on the project would stop.
Consultation
This consultation is a key part of the process for setting up the proposed Taunton Academy. The closing date for responses is 22 July 2009.
The consultation is in two parts:
Part 1 – Sponsors seek your views on the proposal to open an Academy in Taunton on 1 September 2010.
Part 2 - Somerset County Council seeks our views on the proposal to close St Augustine’s of Canterbury CofE/RC School and Ladymead Community School on 31 August 2010.
